B atty is the epitome of a fighter, but a gentler or less aggressive dog, you’d be hard pushed to find. The belle of the sanctuary, Batty adores humans and will roll on her tummy for tickles when she smells anyone heading in her direction! Rescued while suffering from Canine Distemper, she almost didn’t make it, and while it was touch and go for her for many weeks, she fought her way to survival. Despite the neurological after effects of the disease that will always remain, Batty is a fit and strong girl with so much love to give.

A few months ago, we noticed masses suggestive of a tumor on Batty's body and promptly admitted her for a detailed examination. On discovery of the tumor on her spleen, she underwent a splenectomy, but unfortunately, the cancer had metastasized. The fighter that she was, Batty continued to go about as usual taking one day at a time. On the 22nd of May 2024, she peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge on her own terms. We are grateful she had a great inning with us and stayed content until the end. She will continue to inspire us to tackle any adversity. Rest in power, Batty!
