G undu was loved and cared for, by a kind family as a community pet and when they had to move away, fearing her safety they approached us to find her a home. As is often the case with adult females, nobody came forward to adopt her, so she has remained safe and loved with us while her family continues to sponsor her. Preferring the company of humans, Gundu enjoys her solitude at the sanctuary and her canine companions have learnt to give her the space she needs. You might have guessed that this loving senior enjoys her food almost as much as she enjoys being pampered by humans, and while we try to keep our animals slim and fit, Gundu’s love for lounging around has made it hard for her to keep her waistline trim! Nonetheless, she is happy, safe and loved, and will never have to worry about where her next meal is coming from.
On the 20th of April 2021, Gundu passed away quietly. She was normal until evening; but collapsed suddenly during the time evening meals were being served. She lived a long and graceful life, loved by both her canine and human friends. We will all miss her graceful presence and calm personality. RIP, Gundu!
