A fter being hit by a car and undergoing surgery to remove his damaged limb, Labka was lucky enough to be adopted by a kind person, and in his fortune, he gained a canine friend too, by the name of Scooby. However, while this story began sadly, and then got a whole lot happier, things took a dramatic turn for the worse and poor Labka and Scooby’s owner was no longer able to take care of these best friends. So, we stepped in and brought the dogs to our sanctuary, where they have both been living ever since.
Labka and his best friend, Scooby may not be siblings, but they do everything as if they were, and while both are being sponsored, they would be so excited to find another home where they could be together with a new favorite human.
On Jan 05th, 2024, Labka looked a bit dull and showed no interest in food. His blood test revealed advanced kidney insufficiency. Despite fluid therapy, he did not show any improvement and seemed to suffer. We had to decide to put him to sleep on the 13th before his condition worsened. We are grateful to have given him several happy years. May his soul rest in peace!
