T homas's story begins like many—a tiny pup, barely three months old, found stranded and immobile on the roadside after a nasty accident. X-rays revealed the bad news: a fractured pelvis and a broken tibia. But don't worry—this isn’t a sob story. Thomas is no quitter. With some expert bandaging, lots of cage rest, and a few months of recovery, Thomas bounced back. Well, almost. His fractures healed, but not quite the way we'd hoped—what the vets call a "malunion." Translation: his leg didn’t heal in perfect alignment, so now he drags it a bit. But here's the kicker: Thomas doesn’t let that slow him down one bit!
Thomas is as spirited as any dog, full of love, joy, and just the right amount of sass. He’s fantastic with humans and pretty good with other dogs too, though his strong-willed personality might mean a little training if you’ve got other pets at home. But don’t worry, he’s a quick learner—especially if treats are involved. Thomas is also a natural guard dog. Don’t let the limping leg fool you; he’s alert and protective of his turf.
Thomas has a limp, and no, it doesn’t trouble him. However, it does seem to bother those searching for the so-called “perfect dog.” Here’s the truth—Thomas is perfect, just not in the conventional sense. If you’re the sort of person who looks beyond appearances and has a heart big enough to embrace a dog who's a bit different, Thomas is prepared to reward you with a lifetime of love and loyalty. He’s already overcome so much, and now all he needs is someone to show him that his forever home is out there.

Foster
The procedure for adopting or fostering an animal from HAS varies from animal to animal and from person to person, but the following steps are always involved one way or the other.
1. Let us know of your interest in whichever way suits you the best.
2. We will arrange for you to visit your preferred animal at their home at the Sanctuary or ABC and Rescue Centre.
3. We will discuss in person with you the practicalities of adopting/fostering an animal.
4. You will ensure that all your family members affected by the adoption/fostering are in agreement, and that they will do their best to promote the interests of the animal.
5. We will do a house visit to ensure that you and the animal would be comfortable living with each other there. If necessary, we will advise on ways to adjust the living quarters to suit the animal.
6. You will pick up the animal from its present location, or, if possible, we will drop the animal at your house.
7. You will bring the animal to the ABC and Rescue Centre for yearly free health check-ups that include vaccinations.
8. Should you experience any problems at any point in the life of the animal, you should never hesitate in contacting HAS.
