r escued as a sick orphan, Tom decided he liked the food and ear scratches at the ABC and Rescue Center a little too much to say goodbye, so he stayed! Such a sweet little cat, Tom would take some time to adjust to indoor living, but he would undoubtedly be content with good food, scratches and lots of attention; he’s not a demanding cat at all. Tom was doing fine until Oct 30, 2025, when we found him quite unlike himself, looking dull and showing no appetite. His blood work showed elevated kidney values, and he was started on fluid therapy immediately. That seemed to perk him up a bit, but unfortunately, he passed away the next day. He was a free spirit who brightened our day with his presence and will be deeply missed.
