F rom my childhood days I have been very fond of animals, especially puppies and kittens. They are the one who show ultimate love without expecting much from us. Due to certain personal issues I don’t have pets at home but I badly wanted to spend time with them. It was then that I came to know of HAS through The Hindu newspaper, and I volunteered at an adoption camp.
I started to love it very much from that moment itself. Now it has been 3 years that I am volunteering in HAS. I started to learn a lot about pets, like how we should handle them, how to identify whether they are ill, how to identify their mood and much more. My experience at HAS is not just with animals. Here, one can develop personal skills like coordinating groups of people and understanding them, leadership, etc. Above all, I got a lot of contacts and references and made many new friends. Here, we are not just friends; we are like a family. Apart from our interactions at HAS, we help each other in personal lives also. This is my first NGO and now I have started to take part in many events only because of HAS. Apart from adoption camps, many things are carried out like Living Free campaign to save animals, awareness rallies, and anti-rabies camps. I used to have stage fear but now I am out of it mainly because of HAS. It has been a wonderful experience for me and I am proud to be a part of it.
