O ne of HAS’s longer-term permanent residents, Henry was hit by a car a few years back and proved a very difficult dog to handle from day one. Terrified of humans, it took our team many, many months before they could get anywhere near him without sending him into a defensive state of panic. The damage to his spine was irreparable, but over the years, Henry’s condition has improved, and he is now able to move around quite happily on 3 legs.
Shy and still distrustful of some humans, if you take the time to get to know him and are patient and kind, he will reward you with abundant love. Fiercely territorial while accepting of most other dogs, Henry is a quiet resident who will do anything for food and/or tummy rubs.
Henry is lucky enough to have a sponsor, and while finding a permanent home for him may be difficult due to his disabilities, we never lose hope and if the right person came along, Henry would make them a wonderfully loyal companion.
All animals adopted from HAS are or will be sterilised for free at the ABC and Rescue Centre. It is mandatory and entirely free of cost for the adopter. Henry's sterilised.
